Presentation Abstract:
With an enthusiastic “Yes,” this presentation at the 2010 Accessing Higher Ground conference answers the question, “Can accessibility be achieved by promoting Universal Design for Learning?” The definition of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and the approach used to disseminate and institutionalize UDL at Colorado State University are outlined, along with the benefits of UDL when it is presented as an aspect of pedagogy rather than disability and accommodations.
